Becoming a companion on GoWith is one of the more flexible income opportunities available in urban India in 2026. You set your own hours, your own rates, and your own services. There's no joining fee. Weekly payouts land every Monday. This guide walks through the full signup and verification process, expected timelines, and what to prepare in advance.
Who can become a GoWith companion?
Anyone 18 or older with a valid Indian government ID and a bank account (or UPI ID) can apply. Companions come from all backgrounds — students, working professionals, artists, retirees, homemakers, freelancers. The platform doesn't require prior experience.
What matters is consistency and reliability: showing up when you commit, being pleasant company, and rating honestly.
Step 1: Sign up as a booker first
Every companion starts as a booker. Sign in with your phone number, complete onboarding (name, city, date of birth, gender), and get familiar with the app for a day or two. Understanding the booker experience makes you a better companion.
Step 2: Head to Host mode
In the app, tap Host mode. This opens the companion dashboard — verification queue, services, availability, and incoming bookings. Only after completing Step 3 will you actually be bookable.
Step 3: Complete KYC verification
This is the required step. You'll submit three things:
- Government photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, or passport. Upload a clear photo of the front (and back for Aadhaar/DL).
- Live selfie — captured on the app, matched against your ID. Follow the on-screen prompts; make sure the lighting is good.
- Bank details — account number + IFSC, or a UPI ID. We do a one-rupee name-match test to confirm the account belongs to you.
Verification typically clears in 4–6 hours during business hours, sometimes faster. You'll get a notification when your status flips from Pending to Verified. Only then are you bookable.
Step 4: Choose your services and set prices
Once verified, head to Services & pricing in Host mode. Pick between 3 and 10 services from the GoWith catalogue — coffee chats, city walks, wedding plus-ones, dinner companion, gallery visits, networking evenings, and more.
For each service, set two prices: your Scheduled rate (base) and your Instant rate (usually 25% higher). The platform enforces a minimum and maximum range per service — you'll see the bounds when you add each one.
Step 5: Set your availability
Under Availability, add your weekly recurring slots (e.g., Saturdays 10am–4pm, weekday evenings 6–9pm). You can also block specific dates when you're unavailable.
For Instant bookings, toggle the Live switch when you're actually free and ready to meet within 30 minutes. Only companions with Live on appear on the Instant map.
Step 6: Complete your profile
Add a display name, a short bio (up to 250 characters), interests (up to 5), languages you speak, and a profile photo (professional, clear, well-lit — this drives more bookings than any other single factor).
Good bios are specific. "Marketing lead, love photography walks, know Bandra like the back of my hand" beats "Friendly and easy to talk to."
How soon will you get your first booking?
Most companions who complete a full profile with a good photo receive their first booking within 3–5 days. Verified companions in high-demand neighbourhoods (Bandra, Powai, Kala Ghoda, Colaba) often get bookings within 24 hours of activation.
Being live on the Instant map during peak hours (evenings, weekends) is the single fastest way to get booked.
How do you get paid?
Payouts run every Monday to your verified bank account or UPI ID. Earnings from all completed bookings in the previous week batch into one payout. Your Earnings dashboard shows a live week-to-date view.
