Booking a companion in India used to mean navigating classifieds, private WhatsApp groups, or word-of-mouth referrals — with no verification, no payment protection, and no accountability. GoWith exists to fix that. This guide walks through everything you need to book your first verified companion in India, from downloading the app to walking away from a completed meet.
Whether you're looking for a coffee chat companion in Bandra, a plus-one for a wedding in Delhi, or a city tour guide in Bengaluru, the process is the same — and it's designed to feel less like an app transaction and more like a proper introduction.
Step 1: Sign up with just your phone number
GoWith uses phone-only authentication. Head to the sign-in page, enter your Indian mobile number, and verify with a 6-digit OTP. That's the entire signup — no email, no password, no lengthy forms.
First-time users are prompted to complete a short onboarding: full name, display name, date of birth (age 18+ required), city, and a gender selection. This information is only shared with companions after they accept your booking.
Step 2: Browse verified companions in your city
Once signed in, tap Browse or open the live map. You'll see companions filtered by your city (default: Mumbai). Each companion profile shows a verified badge, star rating, number of completed meets, services offered, and hourly rates for both scheduled and instant bookings.
The verified badge is not decorative. Every companion has passed three checks: government ID verification, live selfie liveness match, and bank account confirmation. Unverified profiles cannot accept bookings.
Use filters to narrow by service (coffee chat, city tour, wedding plus-one, dinner companion, etc.), price range, or availability window. Tap any profile to see full details — services offered with prices, a weekly availability grid, and past ratings.
Step 3: Choose Instant or Scheduled booking
GoWith supports two booking modes. Instant bookings are for right-now moments — you'll see only companions who are currently live on the map, ready to meet within 30 minutes. The companion has 5 minutes to accept your request; if they don't, nothing is charged.
Scheduled bookings let you pick a future date and time from the companion's weekly availability grid. They have 12 hours to accept or decline. Once accepted, the meet is locked into both your calendars.

Step 4: Confirm and pay through escrow
After picking a service and time, review the total. Payment is charged upfront but held in escrow — the companion doesn't receive it until two hours after your meet ends. This dispute window means if something goes wrong, either side can raise a concern before funds move.

Step 5: Meet at the venue and GPS check-in
The meet officially begins when both of you check in via GPS within 100 metres of the agreed venue. This prevents no-shows and ensures the service timer only runs when both parties are actually present.
For scheduled bookings, the venue is confirmed in advance. For instant bookings, the venue is usually a mutually-convenient café or public place shared through the app — phone numbers stay masked throughout.
Step 6: Rate and complete
After the meet, both you and the companion rate each other on a 5-star scale. Ratings are two-way and public on profiles — great companions get more bookings, and great bookers get preference on instant availability.
Two hours after the meet ends, if no dispute has been raised, funds release to the companion. Companions receive weekly payouts every Monday to their verified bank account or UPI ID.
