The first 30 days as a new GoWith companion is when everything gets figured out — your rate strategy, which services are your bread and butter, how you handle a nervous first-time booker, and how you feel after ten meets. Here's a realistic day-by-day of what to expect.
Days 1–2: Signup and verification
Day 1 you sign up, complete onboarding as a booker, then flip to Host mode and submit KYC documents — government ID, live selfie, bank details. Verification typically clears in 4–6 hours during business hours.
Day 2, once verified, add your services (3–10 from the catalogue), set your rates at the median of each range, add availability slots, and complete your profile with a good photo and specific bio.
Days 3–5: Your first booking
Most companions get their first booking within 3–5 days of activation. It's almost always a coffee chat — the low-commitment entry point for bookers testing the platform. The booker will likely be first-time too.
Accept quickly (well under the 12-hour scheduled window), confirm the venue, and show up 10 minutes early. The meet timer starts when you both GPS check-in — don't be late.
Week 1: 3–5 meets, 2 nervous
The typical first week: 3–5 completed meets, of which 2 or 3 will feel awkward and 1 or 2 will feel like you found your rhythm. This is normal. Rate honestly, ask the booker for one specific piece of feedback after each meet.
Watch for your own patterns: do you talk too much? Not enough? Feel drained after 45 minutes? These learnings drive week 2 tweaks.
Week 2: Refining the profile
By day 10, you'll have some data. Check your Host dashboard for services that got booked vs. ignored, average rating so far, and any decline patterns from bookers.
- Services with 0 bookings — either your rate is off, or that service isn't actually in demand in your area. Drop or reprice.
- Rating below 4.7 — reflect honestly. Usually it's small things (arriving 5 min late, checking your phone during the meet).
- Bio that gets few profile views — rewrite. Be specific.
Weeks 3–4: Building momentum
By day 15, if you've done everything right, you'll have 7–10 completed meets and a 4.7+ rating. This is when the flywheel kicks in — repeat bookers, direct rebookings, and profile views compound.
Add a 4th or 5th service if you haven't. Consider raising your rate on your best-performing service by ₹100. Turn on Live during peak hours (weekday evenings 6–9pm, all weekend) to catch instant bookings.
Common early mistakes
- Underpricing to "get started" — you don't need to. Median rates work fine.
- Bad profile photo — the single biggest factor in booking rate. Get a proper photo done.
- Accepting bookings you can't fully commit to — one no-show wrecks weeks of built-up trust.
- Not turning on Live — companions who never turn Live on miss the majority of instant bookings.
- Ignoring bookers' post-meet feedback — the honest ones will tell you exactly what to improve.
By day 30
A companion who's done the first 30 days well: 12–18 completed meets, rating above 4.8, at least 2 rebookers, one raise in their Scheduled rate, and a clear sense of which services to double down on. Weekly earnings by day 30 typically land in the ₹3,000–₹6,000 range for casual, ₹6,000–₹10,000 for part-time commitments.
“You cannot fake presence. Show up, stay off your phone, and remember the person's name. That's 90% of the job.”
